Muir Woods, National Park, California Redwood Trees

Muir Woods, National Monument park located in Muir Valley, California about 30 minutes from San Francisco. This is a well layout group of trails that range from .5 miles to 5 miles and longer filled with Redwood Trees running streams and well maintained trails that are clearly marked. The Redwood trees are in the hundreds and raise 100's of feet into the sky. The land was purchased by Willam and Elizabeth Kent purchased the land and donated to the national park service in 1908. It was named Muir Woods in honor of John Muir in his honor. Trees age range from 400- 800 years old. Heights reaching 250 feet and up.
